Step into Summer with Fresh and Delicious Salad Ideas from the CRMR Kitchen

The weather is warm, trees are in bloom and the grass is growing- summer is finally here! After a long winter of eating meals inside, many of us are now on the lookout for fresh and delicious salads that are great for enjoying on the patio – especially when those salads are paired with mouthwatering dressings to go with.

Thankfully, you don’t have to look far for delicious, locally-made and gluten-free dressings that pair perfectly with a range of salads. Made with no preservatives and the tastiest ingredients, salad dressings from the CRMR Kitchen range from Mustard Melon Vinaigrette to Saskatoon Berry Rhubarb Dressing, and other delicious picks in between.

To celebrate the gorgeous summer season, we have put together four salad recipes for each of our CRMR Kitchen salad dressings for you and your family to enjoy:

Baby Spinach and Arugula Salad with CRMR Kitchen Saskatoon Berry & Rhubarb Dressing, Crisp Pancetta, Goat Cheese and Toasted Pecans


  • CRMR Kitchen Saskatoon Berry & Rhubarb Dressing
  • ¼ bag Baby Spinach Leaves
  • ¼ bag Fresh Baby Arugula
  • 1/8 cup Crumbled Goat Cheese
  • 4 slices of Cooked Pancetta
  • ½ cup Toasted Pecans
  • ½ cup Dried Black Mission Figs (or fresh when in season)


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and cook pancetta until crispy.
  2. Toast pecans in pan or oven until desired taste and texture.
  3. Slice figs.
  4. Toss dressing with baby spinach and arugula, top with the sliced cook pancetta, goat cheese, figs and pecans.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Grain Salad with
CRMR Kitchen Mustard Melon Vinaigrette


  • 1 lb Barley
  • ½ lb Rye Berries
  • ½ lb Wheat Berries
  • ¼ cup Pitted Kalamata Olives
  • ½ cup Crumbled Feta Cheese
  • ½ cup Diced Cucumber
  • ½ cup Diced Tomato
  • ½ cup Chopped Red Onion
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Fresh Dill
  • CRMR Kitchen Mustard Melon Vinaigrette


  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook barley for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove barley from the water and add the wheat berries and rye berries. Cook until tender for approximately 30 minutes, adding more water if needed.
  3. Add the barley back in and finish cooking until all ingredients are tender. Drain and cool.
  4. Toss the rest of the ingredients with the barley, wheat berries and rye berries adding the Mustard Melon Vinaigrette to taste.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve and enjoy!


Organic Mixed Greens with CRMR Kitchen Balsamic Vinaigrette and Roasted Corn Salsa



  1. Make Corn Salsa (see directions below).
  2. Toss vinaigrette with mixed baby greens, top with corn salsa. You can also top with grilled steak slices or fresh salmon.

Roasted Corn Salsa:


  • 4 cups Frozen Corn
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Chopped Cilantro
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 1/8 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/8 Balsamic Dressing
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Red Chili Flakes
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 Orange and Lime Juice and Zest


  1. Sear frozen corn in black cast iron pan until golden color. Remove once done.
  2. Add pepper to pan and sear until the outer skin becomes black. Peel off outer skin from peppers and dice.
  3. Add corn, peppers and the remaining ingredients into bowl and toss.

Chili Oil Seared Halibut Fillet with CRMR Kitchen Blood Orange Honey Dressing and Berries



  1. Sear fresh halibut fillet in pan with chili oil on medium heat until crust forms on first side. Flip and then remove from heat. Keep warm as halibut will continue to cook when removed from heat.
  2. Toss organic greens with Blood Orange & Honey Dressing, top with fresh berries, avocado and pomegranate seeds.
  3. Place the halibut on top of the salad and finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
  4. Serve and enjoy.
